Christmas and January

boys with Santa Ricky and I at the BME Christmas party
This Christmas we stayed home. We spent a lot of the time at my moms house because James and his family joined us and it also meant that we got to skype with Jason! Tavan misses Jason a lot and was pretty excited to see him on the computer. He also loved having some of his cousins to play with. He has cousins here in Colorado but I think he enjoys playing with others more. Being able to see Jason was nice and it reminded me jut how much I miss him! Christmas this year was pretty good. Rick got movies and miscellaneous items he wanted. I got a Pearl necklace and a copy of my family vidoes growing up that I have watched a couple times already. Tavan got toys and clothes. His favorite is a Mickey themed Car wash for all his cars. Dimitri got a lot of clothes that he needed. I saved most of Tavans clothes from when he was baby but for some reason I didnt save any 9-18 month clothes. I wish i had a better excuse but I don't. So his Christmas was easy to get.
We also got Tickets for Rick and I so we could fly out as family to Ricky's brother, Andy's, wedding. We left on my birthday and headed to SLC to go to Andy's wedding. The wedding was super pretty and the couple seems happy. The trip itself was super stressful because no one really had any set plans other than the wedding and not knowing where everyone was or even making plans was near impossible, but we made the best it. We even had time to go play on the beach before we had to go back to the airport. Tavan loves the beach and Ricky and I loved getting out of Rangely. I'm just so thankful that my boys are such awesome travelers! They do awesome on the plane and don't mind long car trips. I couldn't ask for better boys! Dimitri at the wedding
Tavan looking handsome in his bowtie! He loves it and still wears it around
the Richard Morgan Family =) I love my family!
Towards the end of January things started getting crazy again. Tavan is in Kindermusic and goes weekly, and Dimitri is trying to figure out this walking thing. Dimitri had his 9 month check up and other than the fact that he had Roseola at the appointment, he is doing really well. HE is in the 60% range for height, weight and his head is off the chart. He got over the Roseola easily and handled it like a champ ( a super high fever for 4 days then a rash for 3 days) The whole time he was sick we had to stay home (with the exception of going to Vernal to his Doctors appointment and to get some more necessities) Dimitri and I had to stay home. Ricky ended up going to Junction by himself with Tavan to get a whole bunch of things we needed (thank you honey, i will love you forever for doing that). Other than having a super high fever Dimitri pretty much just spent his days doing this......
Now Dimitri is over his sickness, Tavan is still healing and we are looking forward to what February brings us!

a Trip to University Hospital

On November 28th Tavan burned his hand on the stove top. Ricky and I had just finished browning hamburger for dinner and turned the oven off while Tavan pushed his chair over to get up and get a banana off the counter. He leaned down right on the burner and screamed. As soon as a turned and saw poor mans little hand I knew there was not going to be eating any dinner right away. We rushed Tavan up to the emergency room and they were able to dress it for us. Tavan was not a fan of anyone touching his hand and screamed the whole time but he was a trooper when the doctor came in and she talked to him enough that he let her look at it after she promised she wouldn't touch it. From the ER we were instructed to follow up in two days and to try to stay on top of the pain. This is Tavan's hand the next morning during a dressing change.
We followed up with Tavan's pediatrician( Dr. Kwak...he is awesome. I feel like he is in our blog quite a bit lately). Dr. Kwak took one look at Tavan's hand and sent us to University hospital's Burn clinic. The very next day we were seen and this is what his hand looked like there before they trimmed it. The whole thing was one giant blister and was super nasty looking.
We had to go back the next week where they really trimmed and "cleaned" his hand up. They were really impressed with how well his hand had healed and that they were only worried about one area of his burn but that at the moment no skin grafts were needed (mom and dad made a huge sigh of relief) After they attacked
All dressed up!
This picture was a week and a half after burning his hand
and one month later!
Today we still are not completely out of the water with his hand. There is one spot on his hand where the burn went deeper than anywhere else and is scarring. They are watching the scar to see if it "bubbles up" any more and if it does then he will need to be fitted with a special brace that he will have to wear for quite awhile but as of now, there has been no change. I am so glad that he is ok and that things are looking up for him. He is such a tough little guy still asks if he can go back to the "flower" doctor sometime.(during Christmas they had poinsettias everywhere so thats what he associated the doctor with)

Tavan Turns 3!

For Tavan's third birthday we did a Mickey theme. It was super fun but caused a lot of stress. My house is just not big enough for everyone to come to and all the things I wanted to do for his party, just didnt work out but we still had fun. I can't believe my little baby is three! where did the time go? Tavan loved having everyone around. Birthday boy in the morning!
funny story...the bakery screwed up Tavans cake. Even after me filling out the card and spelling everything out clearly...they still wrote "Taban" on his cake....i had to fix it but he never noticed!
JoD, Ricky and Devin played hungry hungry hippos while Tavan and the other cousins went upstairs to destroy Tavan's room

I wish i had taken more pictures of the party but there was just too much going on....lesson learned! Happy Birthday Tavan! Mommy, Daddy and Dimitri love you!

September , October and some of November

I feel like it has been forever since I have updated and because there is so much to update on, I have put off doing so. So Im going to play quick catch up with the next few posts! I feel like our life is starting to slow finally since September. In September we had a golf tournament in Price, UT, installed a new kitchen floor and my grandfather passed away. We were able to make the drive to Twin for the service and I loved that we got to be together as a whole family during a hard time. My brother Brandon was able to make it
as well as my sister Haley
After the services we went to see Shoshone falls to let Tavan run and play before beginning our journey home.
The night before we left, Dimitri got super sick. He was unable to keep anything down. It defiantly made for a long drive home. Luckily it was just some virus bug that was going around in young ones and a day later he was able to keep his bottles down. In October we went to Lagoon with the family and the day that we were supposed to come home, we got a flat tire and were stuck for an extra day (it was Sunday and all tire places were closed or didnt have our size of tire) On Halloween we flew to Dallas to spend time with dad. Tavan (and his parents) love going to see Papa Jim and going on adventures with him. They always go out of their way to make sure we have a fun time and we are thankful that we are able to make trips. While in Texas we also were able to hook up with some friends that just recently moved down there. Turns out they live just around the corner from my dad so it was good to see them for a little bit. Tavan was a dragon and Dimitri was a Spider. Both kids wore their costumes in the airport and everyone loved it
Tavan in Texas
Happy boy!
Dimitri loved it as well! Thanks dad for an amazing time.
After we got home from Texas it was on to Tavan's third Birthday!
