my little trooper!

he has been so tough throughout this whole process... Dr kwak talked to GI specialist who wants him to see the genetics specialist first who wants to repeat some labs and add some more...poor little guy. but they want to be sure of the results before they send us all the way to SLC

Past couple of days

so the past couple of days have been emotionally draining for us...Tavan has been losing weight rather than gaining and spiting up a lot so we took him to the doctor and he ordered labs and an upper GI contrast test...well the contrast test came back good but his labs showed that his Liver enzymes are all very very high so the next day he ordered a abdominal CT and some more labs today we go back to the doctor for the 3rd day to go over those results which the doctor said are already concerning. Dr. Kwak has been talking with a pediatric GI in SLC this whole time and there is a chance that today we may get sent over to SLC to see her but we dont know for sure yet. Tavan has been a trooper for what he has had to go through (got poked 7 times yesterday) and we can now say he is not a fan of those lab people...he gives them the evil eye. Tavans new trick!

so yesterday i took my brothers snowboarding up at powderhorn..they had fun playing out in the snow while i sat in the lodge and read my book and soaked up the sun! it was a pretty relaxing day for me since Ricky and Paula watched Tavan for me! below are some pictures that the boys took with my camera while on the slopes...i also included a picture of me in my I love shirt...hahaha it was fun... and at the very bottom is a video of Tavan..he has learned to role over from his belly to his back...it makes tummy time difficult now because after he rolls over i have to roll him back onto his belly and he doesnt like it much. Tavan is becoming more fun and responsive with every day that passes...now when laying on his back under his gym he can grab on to the rings all by himself, he has started to follow me with his eyes if he is on the floor and i am up walking around (usually cleaning), he is learning how to go right to sleep when laid in his crib and he loves his teddy bear that makes sounds....the other morning when ricky walked in Tavans room he said that he had his arms around his bear and when he saw ricky he gave him a big smile...It also wont be long before Tavan starts to giggle...now with every big smile we get squills and if we like rub our nose against his belly or side of the neck he smiles and tries to laugh but hasnt quite figured it out...and when we tickle him rather than just flailing around he squills ,its so stinkin cute. i cant wait for the giggles to come!

Valentines day!

This v-day was a good one for us! We got up, went to church where Ricky and I substituted for a primary class teacher which was fun..Tavan was a little fussy during church but over all did well. we just wish he wouldnt fight sleep so much! When we got home i surprised Ricky with matching shirts for all of us ( his said "i love my wife", mine "i love my hubby" and Tavans "i love my parents" )hahaha i was hesitant about if he would wear it or not...but he loves me so much that he did with out even a peep...he later got harassed about it from his sister- in- law but he still wore it proudly! i love him to death and am so lucky to have him in my life! For V- Day Ricky got me a ring to match a necklace and bracelet he had previously bought me (one for xmas and one for anniversary) and i love it! (picture below) im a pretty lucky girl!
also this sunday while at church Ricky and i both got callings....we are both primary teachers! different classes but still a calling that we both wanted and will love!

Tavan is 3 months old today! we can't believe its been this long and we love every minute with him!

another update! and funny clip

Tavan and I have been busy busy lately....he is getting over another ear infection... :( poor guy...i feel like i am doing something wrong but the doctor said im not and that some babies just get ear infections because of the way their ears are... Tavan and i have been making trips back and forth from vernal and grand junction and i enjoy every minute i get to spend with him. here are a few pictures of Tavan and his letters for his room that i finally finished (they are pictured not finished here...but close enough for you to get the picture) and finally a video of Tavan...he sort of smiles in it....oh and yes Tavan did watch the super bowl...i laid him down on a blanket and he was hooked for quite awhile...

before these were taken and he doesn't like to keep it down...but loves to

drink it all! Thank goodness he thinks its candy!

Tavan is doing AWESOME!!! he now for the most part sleeps through the night...he may skip one night every now and then but i would say 95% of the time he sleeps with out waking up from 10/11 to 5-8 in the morning just depends on the day. i love that he loves to sleep like Ricky and i do! its so nice! i didn't truly appreciate it until i heard a lady talking about her 6 month old who still wakes up 3 times during the night....boy do i have it good!

On another note...more of a sad one...Ricky is no longer above ground at the coal mine.. the Surface people were to great in number so it had to bump the lower end of the totem pole people down to underground and on the graveyard shift....yuck! Ricky now works sun- Thursday nights from 11pm to 7am.....for right now its not too bad...because Tavan sleeps through the night and if i need any help during the day...Ricky is home..but i usually try to let him sleep.

on Jan. 22 my brother Joshua got married to Jamie! Tavan &I went to the wedding and while i dont have any pictures from it...it went well. Ricky joined us the next day for the reception and it was fun to see friends and family.well thats pretty much whats been going on in our lives lately...so i will let you get on with enjoying the pictures and videos below!
